
Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China Peter, who is a Hong Kong Permanent Resident, is married with three daughters all of whom were born in Hong Kong. He is an INED of the English Schools Foundation (“ESF”), a member of the Hong Kong Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Aircraft Leasing and Aviation Finance Association, and a past chairman of the “One Belt, One Road” Committee for the Hong Kong Association of Banks. Peter is Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Peter has a long association with Asia having first worked in the region in 1994 and settled in Hong Kong in 1996.

In 2006 he was appointed the Chief Executive of UBS Middle East & North Africa, based in Dubai and London, returning to Hong Kong as the Chairman of UBS Capital Markets, Asia in 2010. In 2000 he was appointed Head of UBS Investment Banking, Asia. In 1995 Peter moved to Hong Kong with UBS as Head of ECM in Asia. His career in banking started with UBS Corporate Finance where he specialised in capital markets, M&A and financial advisory and later joined the Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) team. He started his career in the City of London with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and moved into banking one year after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. Peter is a Graduate of the University of Oxford (MA) and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He joined the bank in Hong Kong in 2013 as the Regional Head, Corporate Finance, Greater China & North Asia and a member of the Executive Committee.
